It's Looming!!

Well, now it's a mere 4 hour-ish until the switch of the year! This will be my last post of the year! I've mentioned how 2008 was for me in the previous post. But I have determined to end this year at a high note! Well, the 30th was very interesting night! Thanks a bunch to a couple of my crazy mates. And now, I'm about to leave for a family dinner, and then embark to my friend's place to do countdown together. Massive plans!! May this night be legendary!
So that's it.. 2008, I'm out. And I'll see you in 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

2008, in retrospect

It's a mere 1 day and 22 hours left in 2008 (Jakarta time that is).. For me myself, it's been a not bad year. It's good! Considering that 2006 and 2007 both were not very good to me to say the least. I mean 2006 was just depressing, and 2007 really ended in a very sour note during that last couple of months..
The year itself is quite eventful, with Olympics, some natural disasters, global economy crisis, etc. Makes my life in banking a bit tougher, but I guess it was still okay as we ride through it smoothly..
Personal life? Well there's definitely less drama this year, so I'm happy! The house next door is still under construction, and hopefully it'll be done in March or so. If you're invited to my housewarming party, I still could use XBox 360, Playstation 3, some HDTVs, and the list may go on! hehe..
Working life, well let's just say it's not as much of a challenge lately.. But we'll see how it goes next year..

Some of my bests of 2008:
Best Song: I'm Yours, by Jason Mraz. Very upbeat, good song about life, and funky island tune.
Best Movie: Dark Knight. And by default, best actor was Heath Ledger. Such a shame about his departure )=.
Best Sport Moment: John Terry missing his penalty, and Edwin VDS saving Anelka's penalty in the shoot-out of Man United vs Chelsea in the Champions League final! Man I was ecstatic and couldn't sleep for the rest of the day! Brilliant! But the final race in Formula One, man, that was breath-taking.. Too bad Massa didn't win it )=. Actually There's a lot more sporting moment in there, Wimbledon final, Phelps record gold, etc..
Best TV Series: Entourage still wins it for me. Although I enjoyed Grey's Anatomy as well..
Best Race: I wanna say Obama vs McCain, but then again, was it an even race? Maybe Obama vs Clintons wouldSo a tie with the final Formula One race day in Brazil!
Best Gadget: Blackberry Bold. Hands down! I wanna say Guitar Hero, but Bold just blew it all off.
Best Party: Super Bed Club. Bangkok. Second visit. Legendary!
Best Wedding: The garden party in Widya Candra, now that felt like real wedding! I'm sorry pin, urs is nice too though!

That's all I could think of.. I'll post some more tomorrow! ><

To dine my penne with Basil Pesto
Nothing better than a fine wine

My Poison

Chubby..

One tequila..

I recently just watched an episode of Entourage, in which Vincent Chase, usually the calmest of the bunch, threw a cellphone in rage and cursed loudly. That had taken me aback a bit, never would have guessed that coming.

Two tequila..

Chubby..

Three tequila..

Promotion is nigh.. Strong career improvement came knockin' on ur door.. Ur on top of the world! Global crisis hit, shatters everything apart..

Four tequila..

Chubby..

Five tequila..

Time for my sleep perhaps..

Sore Knees..

Had my first competitive basketball match for my company, unfortunately we lost 32-35. The score may seem close, but we were actually chasing them after getting behind as far 8 points. Both my knees got knocked, and my right palm not doing so well either. I blame the uneven floor!!
But hey, overall I think we did well considering it's out first time playing as a team against another. I'll post some pictures later when I got them.. Sunday will be out next match, hopefully I can make it..

Sharapova

Midway thru my annual block leave now, most of the time just chillin' at home (=
But some of my highlights so far:
1. Watched Entourage continuation, and was happy to see Sloan back in the show. Damn is she stunning!
2. Seen a dude actually wearing a shirt with "Sharapova" written in his back in the Gym's locker room.. Talk about being expressive! (I have no qualms about it though!)
3. Twilight and Bolt. Both just okay movie, with Twilight being a bit too corny on some of the dialogs. But I can't complain much, there's not a whole lot of movie coming up in here. I may have to resort buying Tropic Thunder's dvd )=
4. Refurbishing my house.. Ok, maybe it's not really a highlight, but that's what I've been doing most around here lately. Picking out marbles, water closets, fences, etc etc..
5. Fitness. Well, only one day of gym, although plenty of bball-ing..

Still got two more off-days, and my weekend is all planned out as well.. fun fun.

Ponderful Things

Most chinese restaurants showcase their products in the window display, such as pork loins, roast ducks, bbq chickens, etc.. But have u ever wondered, why do they show their ducks with their heads still attached, while the chickens are, well, headless? Ponderful indeed..

Crackberrian!!

I have given up to the trend.. Well actually, I did have the intention to buy one. If you recall my old post between e71 or Bold. Then later between I decided to go with BB, but between Curve or Bold. But I finally settled with a Bold, and I'm happy so far with it!!
Now I need guides on what and where to download softwares to make my Bold even bolder! (Bad pun, I know..)
So to all of u BB experts, ur guidance will be much appreciated!!

Oh, and my BB Pin is 255914c0 (that's zero, annoying pin number ><)

Quantum of Solace

The movie did not disappoint! Daniel Craig played the rough Bond nicely, though the scene where he tried to be charming made me chuckle a bit. I still think he's the best Bond there is.. (Maybe I need to rewatch Sean Connery again). But the biggest surprise was from the newest Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko. I have to admit that, after watching her in Hitman, I thought she was just a mediocre model who tried to act. And after seeing her in the cast list of Quantum, suddenly Denise Richards pops up in my mind )=.
But I was proven wrong! She fits right into the movie really well, and damn she's hot here! I may have to watch Max Payne just for her P=.
Back to the movie, surprisingly, I never knew that both latest 007s were written by Paul Haggis, the same guy that brought Crash. Needless to say, overall the movie was great. I definitely recommend it for u guys to watch. I had high expectation for it, and I was thoroughly satisfied by it! Oh, and do watch Casino Royale before u watch this, it might help to remember who is who again (I could sure used it ><)

Home of Memories..

I'm a romantist perhaps.. But you get to be one when you live in the place for 6.5 years.. I remember my first night there, having dinner on the kitchen floor, just me, my sis and my cousin.
The day I opened my mailbox and find the USC acceptance letter..
Random nights of DVD rentals with pizza n soda (or yoshinoya.. or Talay Thai..)
Whole day procrastinating on MMORPG (EQ, WoW)
Police crashing into my 22nd bday party (and my other "surprise" parties of course).

So.. 9 years and 4 months later.. after 6 roommates (i'm not counting my brother's roomies), it's time to say goodbye to 1910 S. Manning Ave #2.

Thanks for all the memories, I'll be sure I'll stop by the next time I visit LA (;

... I do sound disturbing eh? Oh well, back to F1, cheering for Massa!!

TENJEWBERRYMUDS!!

Time to share the funnies

To get the full effect, this should be read aloud. You will understand what 'tenjewberrymuds' means by the end of the conversation.

The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest (G) and room-service (RS), at a hotel in Asia , which was recorded and published in the Far East Economic Review:

RS: "Morrin. - Roon sirbees..."

Yay Hippo!!

YouTube rocks.. A few years ago I've watched the Discovery channel (or was it National Geographic?), and saw a deer/impala attacked by a croc. I don't plan to spoil the rest, but watch this video for some amazing Hippo action.. That actually made Hippo one of my fav animal~!

Poor quality unfortunately.. another sample is here, but there's no audio on this one )=

The Flower Girl

Oh and on a side note, I just finished Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on PSP. Basically a prequel of the Final Fantasy VII in Playstation platform, but damn, does it has a solid ending. I mean if you have already played the FF7 game, then you would know how FF7:CC gonna end.. But despite what you are anticipating, the final 'battle' .. and the final scene.. Damn.. It's been a while.. *sob sob

"Hey.. Would you say I became a hero?"

Warning: Ending spoilers below!

It's Raining Bull!

I've been working in a Bank, yet I never really mention my work stuffs there..
So looking at the market right now, where within 3 days, JCI has lost nearly 25%, and my good friend is going bananas with his investment, I figured it's a good time to poke some fun on it!

A talented artist, who loves to make fun on Bush. (=

Fruit Machine

Time for a music review! It's the return of Brit-Pop! A great duo-band arrived in the music industry. Perhaps you have heard their songs on the air before, but have no idea what the band name is. Well, they are The Ting Tings (which means small pen*s in Japan, yeah, no kidding!)
I've listened to the whole album, and I thought their tunes are very catchy! Great DJ was awesome, and so are That's Not My Name, and Shut Up & Let Me Go. I would recommend you to check out their songs, one is linked through the YouTube link below.
*EDIT: Apparently I can't embed the YouTube video here, so you will have to click on the video link at the title below. Click it, you'll love it (=

That's Not My Name
By: The Ting Tings

Four letter word just to get me along
It's a difficulty and I'm biting on my tongue and I
I keep stalling, keeping me together
People around gotta find something to say now

Holding back, everyday the same
Don't wanna be a loner
Listen to me, oh no
I never say anything at all
But with nothing to consider they forget my name
(ame, ame, ame)

They call me 'Hell' , They call me 'Stacey'
They call me 'her', They call me 'Jane'
That's not my name, That's not my name
That's not my name, That's not my name

They call me 'Quiet Girl', But I'm a riot
Mary, jo, lisa, Always the same
That's not my name, That's not my name
That's not my name, That's not my name

I miss the catch if they throw me the ball
I'm the last chick standing up against the wall
Keep up, falling, these heels they keep me boring
Getting clamped up and sitting on the fence now

So alone all the time and I
Lock myself away
Listen to me, Oh No!
Although I'm dressed up, out and all with
Everything considered they forget my name
(ame, ame, ame)

Are you calling me darling?
Are you calling me bird?
Are you calling me darling?
Are you calling me bird?

This song was in my head, now it's in my mind, call it reach it get some words and get some timing.
And though I realize, I cannot emphasize, I'll stick around but just don't promise, nothing binding.
And baby can't you see, that you're so desperately, a standing joker like a vocal one-liner.
Instead of sing-a-long, this song is monotone, I've gotta get some soul I gotta get some feeling.

Black vs White

vs
Blackberry Bold vs Nokia E71.
In term of business and software functions, I think Black has a lot more. It offers me Blackberry Chat with fellow Blackberry users, although both phones allow me to chat via MSN or other messenger tools.
White has the better Media functions, with 3.2MPx camera, while Black only has 2MPx.
Button-mashing wise, I think Black has got the edge, as its bigger dimension (thus, bigger size) allows bigger buttons for my big thumb to push around.
Black's roller ball also allows faster browsing compared to that of White's "numpad" button..
Black costs almost twice of White. But come November, which I am planning to buy, who knows how low both phones can go to..
Heck with the way I wrote this, it is as if I already know which one to choose huh? But I'm cramped! Well, I think i have roughly two months to think it through carefully.. Any suggestions people???

It's all B'seder!

Wow, massive jolt in the market lately, with Lehman Brothers now out of the picture, and Merill Lynch bought by Bank of America, not to mention people are waiting what will be AIG's next move.. Bearish market in the US has found its way to Asia, with our own local index (IHSG) broke the 1500 intra-day today! To think that it was 2700 around a couple months ago! I do think it's just a temporary thing, as it's just global upset currently, and I'm sure market will return back to normal. It will all be b'seder!
Just watched Zohan, very entertaining movie, though a bit silly at times. However, all ends well with Emmanuelle Chriqui on the set! It's the same person that played Sloan in Entourage. What a beauty! I hope she appears more in Entourage's next season, which makes me wonder, has it started yet?
Anyway, as we are tackling Middle-Eastern themed movie, I thought I posted a YouTube link. My first time trying it out, and it's just an old funny flick, but I do find it hilarious!

Ballistic Syndrome

I love movies.
A cheap source of entertainment, let's you relax for a while..
Thus, you will see a lot of movie reviews here, just like on my old blog.
And I shall explain to you now a new term that I just invented: The Ballistic Syndrome.
Ever seen a movie trailer or poster that looks mightily interesting, star-studded and all, only to fail to deep disappointment? I don't mean those stupid movies that you just know will suck big time (Meet the Spartans comes to mind). One perfect example would be Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever. It's poster and movie trailer came up very interesting. The castings also looked great: Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu, two of the hottest foreign actors during that time. But only came up to my first biggest disappointment ever. So from there on, I will coin the term "Ballistic Syndrome" to all such movies. And the first I shall honor for a spot in my brand new blog is: Babylon A.D.
Great looking poster.
Awesome title name.
Powerful cast by Vin Diesel (and Michell Yeoh I guess).
Fail miserably.
Plot was jumping everywhere. You have no idea the significance of the quest. Action shown was just bleh, nothing new. Vin was just acting like his normal self, nothing new there as well. And you get annoyed with what the chick really think about the dude ("Don't kill. I hate you! Okay I like u now, let me touch ur buff chest ^^"). Aaandd, you will get the biggest "WTF!?" ending ever. Okay, maybe The Mist still holds that title, right Malvin?
So in all, I dunno if it's the censorship in this country that just makes it mind-boggling with the scene jumps, but from what I read, many people don't rate this movie as well.. Oh well, money down the drain..

Anyhow, tomorrow I'm gonna see Hellboy 2. Looks promising enough, though most already watched the dvd (2 months released in the states, go figure!) Well, it was either that or Bangkok Dangerous, which I also heard great reviews! Probably I'll take a look on Sunday or something..

Ahhh.. and United is traveling to the Merseyside tomorrow. Can't wait to see how Berbatov gonna perform tomorrow!! Gerrard and Torres both are fit tomorrow (not surprisingly.. Rafa's mind-play trick grew old on me), so there shall be no excuses! Though I could end up on paying some three ppls lunches come Monday if I'm wrong >< *touches wood.

Phoenix Down!!

After some time, I thought it's time to rejuvenate my old blog to Blogspot.. This is partly due to my lack of visit to Friendster site (due to the popularity of Facebook as of lately), and I figured it's time to move on from F'ster's lack of features, and explore Blogspot.
Now I used to have an old blogspot site before (and for some reason, I forgot the account for yrreg.blogspot.com). But it's probably better to start fresh, ja? Maybe the title of this post doesn't suit it perfectly. But hey! It's my blog, and I can do whatever I want, yes???
So ladies and gentlemen, relax, enjoy my occasional mumblings, give me feedbacks, and don't forget to bookmark this page!!
